Our “Crabstick Uramaki” is an imaginative take on the traditional Japanese sushi roll. We fill it with succulent crabstick and ripe, tropical mango, then coat it lightly with a layer of creamy mayonnaise. The final touch is a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds, adding a hint of nuttiness and an extra crunch. This sushi roll is not just visually appealing, but it’s also an orchestration of diverse flavours that harmonise beautifully.

The Signature Elements

Every element of our “Crabstick Uramaki” is meticulously curated to contribute to a rich sensory journey. Uramaki, a style of sushi roll, is unique in that the rice is on the outside of the roll rather than the inside. In the case of our Crabstick Uramaki, we begin by laying out a sheet of nori (seaweed) on a bamboo mat. A layer of sushi rice is spread evenly over the nori, and then it’s flipped so the rice faces down onto the bamboo mat.

The heart of this dish, a tender crabstick, is then placed on the nori along with fresh, juicy mango. The succulence of the mango adds a vibrant sweetness that is the perfect foil to the delicate, oceanic taste of the crabstick. Next, a coating of creamy mayonnaise is applied, contributing a luxurious richness that ties the ingredients together. The entire assembly is then carefully rolled using the bamboo mat, ensuring the ingredients are snugly enveloped within the rice and nori.

Once the roll is complete, it is sliced into bite-sized pieces, revealing the beautiful cross-section of crabstick, mango, and mayonnaise. The final flourish involves a sprinkling of sesame seeds on top. The sesame seeds add an earthy note and a subtle crunch that contrasts the softness of the sushi, creating a symphony of tastes and textures.
